Curriculum Vitae
In an industry that relies almost solely on 'word of mouth', this may seem like a waste of electrons, but here goes;
My first forays into live sound were at school, born out of the necessity of hearing the singer in the band. I studied Electronics & Music Tech at the University of York and began working for the Students Union doing PA, lights and event organising. More than 10 years later I have extensive experience in many aspects of audio engineering and touring & event production. I am of the firm belief that technical expertise is half 'the gig', the other half being attitude. I take pride in my ability to work in different environments, with different people, and produce consistent results everytime.
Along with mixing FOH or Monitors for just about any sort of live event you can imagine, I can also be found doing Production & Stage Management, or in a studio engineering live or recording sessions. I'm also adept at coordinating rehearsals/pre-production including the design, hiring, purchasing, building and flightcasing of production & backline equipment, particularly dual-redundant multi-channel playback systems. In addition; I am an accomplished RF technician with experience in managing the multiple wireless microphone, IEM and instrument systems that form a key part of many productions.
Sandwiched between gigs in 2011 I've managed to lend a hand with Sennheiser UK's education program - passing on lessons learnt and one or two stories to fresh-faced University students.
